Why is my device reporting the error "Communication failure"?

Why isn't my sensor working? There is an error message "Communication failure. Device is not drawing power as expected. Check cabling."


This error indicates that your device is not drawing power from the field unit (C3 or Solo) as it normally would. This usually occurs if the device is not plugged into the port properly or if cabling has been damaged. Unplug the device, and check if there is any damage to the cabling or the device itself.
